Breads: WHITE BREAD - Thanks Socks, Staff Site!
White Bread - 2 Points per slice

1 Tbsp table salt
3 Tbsp shortening
2 2/3 cup water
1/4 cup sugar

3/4 cup water
4 1/2 tsp yeast

9 1/2 cup bread flour

Mix 3 Tbs. melted shortening, 1/4 cup sugar, 1 Tbsp salt, and 2 2/3 cup (105-115 deg.) water. In a different bowl mix together 1 pkg. (4 1/2 tsp) yeast to 3/4 cup water (105-115). Stir the two mixtures together. Add 5 cups flour. Mix well. I usually add 3 more, then put on a floured board where I knead in 1 or more cups of flour. Add flour until it is no longer sticky. Knead for approx. 10 minutes. The longer it is kneaded, the lighter it is.

Let rise in a large greased bowl. When double, put into 3 greased bread pans. Bake for 30 minutes in a 425 oven.
