MY TESTIMONY & PRAYER FOR YOU - August 26, 2008 cblessum on 10/6/2009
My brother has left us here with his powerful testimony and I want to share it with you, along with my own testimony. I asked Jesus into my heart as a little girl. Sometimes I've felt that my story isn't as powerful as other stories I've heard. But lately I've decided that isn't true at all. When Jesus died on the cross it was for each of us - and all of us who have received Him, even at the earliest age, have a testimony worth sharing. My testimony sings of God's faithfulness in seeing me through every area of my life. I can't even begin to tell everything but a few things do stand out. I was blessed to grow up in a Christian home with the two best, loving parents in the world. I never had to worry about the next meal or if my parents would be home - they were there & they provided for my brothers & me. I was blessed with the two best brothers in the world - one older, one younger. What could be better than being the only girl, right in the middle? Then I found my wonderful husband Mike and we have two healthy, loving kids. What more could I ask for? But the Lord helped me overcome my struggle with food and being overweight. I've had the opportunity to share what I've learned with hundreds of people. I've been delivered of health problems - food allergies including wheat/gluten. Through every struggle He has taught me how to TRUST in Him. I can't do anything on my own - it is all through Jesus. Psalm 121:1-2 I raise my eyes towards the mountains. Where will my help come from? 2. My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. I'm trusting in Him now more than ever as this overwhelming grief floods through me each day. I had no idea it would be this painful. It is not only my grief, but the grief of my parents, my nephew Alex, Aunty Connie, brother Jason & his beautiful wife Jenelle, my cousin Missy and the rest of our relatives...such an emptiness left in our family. But I can praise the Lord for all the memories we have and the memories we are still making in our family. I've learned that there are so many little things in life that don't matter at all - the only thing that matters is the state of our heart. 1 John 5:12 "He who has the Son has Life, He who does not have the Son does not have Life." Do you have the Son?

I realize now that my brother's testimony is the same as my testimony - JESUS LIVES!! God brought Rich through the tough times & I believe his story will touch hearts and lives; I believe mine will too!

Jesus died on the cross for our sins - Salvation is a free gift! We just need to receive it.

Do you know what would happen if you died today? You can have the assurance of eternal life...please read below to read His awesome plan for YOU. I hope to meet you in Heaven someday and introduce you to my brother Rich and all our brothers and sisters in Christ. We are going to see the King! ~Cherie

The Salvation of Mankind
Salvation is deliverance from spiritual death and enslavement by sin. God provides salvation for all who believe and accept His free offer of forgiveness. Mankindís only hope of redemption from the fallen sinful state is through the blood of Jesus Christ, Godís Son - blood that was shed as Jesus died on the cross. [The account of the crucifixion of Jesus is recounted by four of His contemporaries: Matthew (chapter 27), Mark (chapter 15), Luke (chapter 23), and John (chapter 19).]

The Experience of Salvation:

Salvation is received as a person (1) repents before God for his sins and sinful nature or inclinations, and (2) believes or has faith in the fact that the death and resurrection (supernatural restoration to life) of Jesus Christ removes and brings forgiveness to his sins. In response to placing faith in Godís love in freely given salvation, one experiences the washing of regeneration (or spiritual rebirth), and renewing work of the Holy Spirit, and is declared righteous (right with God). Regeneration, renewal, and justification (justified, or made right with God) are words describing what happens at salvation. At the moment of salvation, a person becomes heir to Godís promised hope of eternal or everlasting life (Luke 24:47; John 3:3; Romans 10:13-15; Ephesians 2:8; Titus 2:11, 3:5-7).

The Evidence of Salvation:

The inner evidence of salvation is the direct witness of the Holy Spirit giving one the assurance that God has accepted him (Romans 8:16). The outward evidence, visible to others, is a life of righteousness and true holiness (Ephesians 4:24; Titus 2:12). In other words it is living life totally committed and pleasing to God.

Importance of this Doctrine:

The restoration of relationship between God and fallen mankind is the central message of the Bible. The entire story from Genesis through Revelation points to a God who loved fallen mankind so much that He gave His Son to die for those who believe in Jesus Christ that they may have never-ending spiritual life. Every true Christian experiences salvation and becomes a new person in Christ. Without this doctrinal truth, all other doctrinal statement are empty and without meaning. More importantly, without this experience, oneís life is empty and without real meaning.
